I spent two decades as a news photographer and writer. This work taught me to believe in the power of story, whether told through images or words. Stories connect us to others; by sharing them, we discover our commonalities. Stories can change hearts. They can save our lives. For that reason, it doesn't matter if you experience a story on an e-reader, via TV or movie screen, or even through a conventional printed book -- story remains the most powerful form of communication.

While I still write occasionally for mass media, more often now, I assist corporate and non-profit clients in written communications, as well as in the production of multimedia and video projects.  Additionally, I work as a private writing coach, consultant and instructor. I’m happy to provide references and more work samples.

I grew up on the Texas-Mexico border and am adept in conducting interviews in both Spanish and English.
